When the Atlanta Summer Olympics were held in 1996, the 100th anniversary of the modern Olympic Games, the anthem for the Games was the song Return to Innocence by the German band Enigma. The vitality of the voices in the song captured the attention of the world. The voices were those of Difang Duana and the Malan Singers of Taitung, Taiwan.
Difang however was totally unaware at the time that his voice had miraculously become an Olympic anthem. Following the Games, Enigma and Difang fought a three-year legal battle that eventually resulted in a settlement.
It turns out that in 1988 Difang was invited by the Maison des Cultures du Monde cultural center in Paris where he recorded the traditional Amis song “Elders’ Drinking Song” to positive local reviews. This was the voice sample later used in Return to Innocence. So, unexpectedly, this voice would go on to become an Olympic anthem and at the same time let the world know about Taiwan.
#FLIPPOS Design
The design makes use of traditional Amis patterns and adds some alterations. The Amis people deeply venerate nature and hold that the world contains all manner of nature deities and only through mutual respect may they all inhabit the land together.
As the Amis is a matrilineal society, women are prioritized in inheritance, so the use of army green with sun orange on the flip side has the name Ina (Mother).
WHY FLIPPOS?
The original idea of FLIPPOS hosiery is to create a pair of compression stocking fulfilling functions in every way. You could wear it to the office and exercise after work as well. Simply with ONE SAME pair of stocking.
Considering that most people either sit or stand for a long time for work in which cause the fatigue condition upon feet and calf, we develop our hosiery to apply ‘graduated compression’ from the sole of the foot to calf to improve this situation. Graduated Compressions
The compression levels adopted by FLIPPOS are the graduated compressions of 15-25 mmHg in accordance with EU regulation, which is NOT considered a high-compression medical product.
Usage
Daily wear, before and after exercise (running, cycling, skateboarding, mountain-climbing, physical training, etc.), traveling, taking long-distance flights, or improving problems before and after pregnancy.
Composition
The touch of similar to Egyptian cotton & silver fiber The main material of the hosiery is tech nylon mixed with lycra yarn.
